Hero Worship

I have observed in my personal experiences, that some people have been placed in a position of leadership more for the purpose of God working in their own life, than even for the influence they might have on others. I love how God speaks to us and about us the way he sees us, the end of the story already being a clear reality to him. He calls things that are not as though they are. He knows what kind of leader that person can be, and hopefully will be. And very good leaders will follow suit and draw people into leadership with them or under them, to help them learn and grow and get a glimpse of who they truly are. That means though, that we should never assume that just because someone is in a position of leadership that we should follow them without thought or weighing our own choices and steps before blindly heading their advice. A true leader would tell you not to just listen to their advice without first hearing from God for yourself. And never assume that just because they are in a position of authority or been given the task of leading, that you are not just as capable of speaking into their life or helping then to learn. His is speaking to you just as clearly and profoundly. The best leaders are eternally teachable. But never assume that just because someone is still learning, leader or not, that they can not speak powerfully into your life. Keep your eyes open, heart listening.
