11th. You Don't Know What You've Got....

'Til It's Gone....

Especially when it is people you love deeply, and suddenly you realize that they are moving halfway across the country, away from you.

I have taken my sweet friend Raena for granted. And the fact that she lived just across town. We have been through so much together, over so many years. 18 years (Oh. My. Word.) She was always there. There for me. And I am finding myself in a sudden panic realizing that this season of our lives is coming to an end. I am thrilled that I will have a genuine reason to visit Northern California in the future now, but the void I will feel, living here with out her, will be really, really huge.
Life has been so busy, with weddings, and babies, and careers carrying us rushing through the years and made our times together few and far between, yet through it all, nothing ever changed between us.

We have been to 5 countries, 19 states, and 3 provinces together, swum in 2 oceans, eaten bizarre foods and drunk coffee across the globe. We have danced, traveled, prayed, cried, puked, worshiped, run, camped, and skated together. And of course, cut and bleached and dyed our hair (and my children's hair) innumerable times. And Always- We Laughed.

She is a rare find and a gift to me. It's not often you find someone you can be entirely real with, or brutally honest with and all while always, always laughing 'til we thought we'd pass out. California, you have no idea how fortunate you are! Prepare to be inspired and amazed!
