March Experiment

I had an idea pop into my head a little bit ago, and feeling inspired, I made a commitment to myself. In a week, I may be feeling less inspired, but here we go anyway!

I have been feeling very challenged personally the last few months to simplify my life. There is always so much input into our lives, and it's not always what we need most. Life is busy, we all know that better than we would like. And it is usually the things that are truly important that get pushed aside. So I am trying to make some room in my days for what matters most to me. I am going
to cut out all of my online activities like Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram etc. for the month of March which just may kill me since I am admittedly fairly addicted to all of my social media, and then blog about it every night. Sounds like fun. I am also committing to spending time with my kids that doesn't include school, and time with my heavenly Father, and at least try to squeeze in a little physical activity too. This is a personal challenge but I would love to have you all follow along, and leave a comment or two every so often. :)

I am excited for you! I hope you will be superabundantly blessed.

When we were at the farm (not farmhouse), it came to me that women have 3 areas where they can deliberately spend their time: their home, their family, and "other." "Other" could mean hobbies, or an outside job or homeschool or social activities or any endeavors that excite the imagination and desire. I also came to the conclusion that each woman can do only 2 really well.

I thought of you in reference to this just the other day and I prayed for you. I felt that you had already made wise choices in putting your family and your socializing first(the live version of socializing, not the online version). I knew however, that there was a degree of frustration in it all for you. That is why I prayed.

This experiment may be one of the best things you have done in relation to all of this. Homeschooling is a major commitment - which you already know - but it is worthwhile in the long run. You are doing a great job of keeping the main thing, the main thing.

Now you can pray for me!!

I love you so much and I am so proud of you. Mom

Hi Priscilla - you have inspired me to join you. I have signed off FB for the rest of the month. I want to make the effort to connect personally to the people I care about, and more often with God. Thanks for sharing your challenge!
